This probably sounds super cliche, but I have a go-to makeup look that I resort to doing regularly. Once you find something that works for you and the look you like, it just makes sense to stick with it. Days where I'm running short on time or creative juices, this is what I do. I decided to show you all a breakdown on my go-to products worn in this routine because they're very transitional and can be used on an every day or night basis by anyone - plus they're some of my favorites!
FACE:
Starting with my face, I use the Tarte Marine Boosting Mist as my primer. It's super light-weight and refreshing - I also talked about this product in my last post!
I have awful dark circles underneath my eyes, so I like to brighten them up and make any discoloration disappear using the Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer by IT Cosmetics. It is pretty heavy, so may not be for everyone depending on personal preference.
As for foundation, Too Faced Born This Way is by far my favorite! I've veered off once or twice since I began using it just to compare and I can't imagine wearing anything else at this point. It's full coverage, and makes your skin look flawless! I wear the shade Natural Beige.
I go back and conceal/highlight again with Urban Decay's Naked Skin Concealer. It's worked wonders for me, and blends nicely with the Too Faced Foundation. I have the shade Light Warm.
Last, I set and bake with the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. I have seen an unbelievably noticeable difference using this product. The final finish of my makeup looks brighter, smoother and fresher. This is a MUST you guys, I swear by it!!
EYES:
My all time favorite eye shadow palette is of course a staple in my go-to routine. I love, love, love the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette. You can seriously wear it year-round, day, night, whatever - it's amazing. Typically, I use the shade Heaven all over my lid, Nudie in my crease, blend it out with Cashmere Bunny going outwards and use Silk Teddy in the inner corner of my eyes to highlight.
For eyeliner, I think the L'Oreal Infallible Lacquer Liner is amazing. It's super easy to use because it goes on smooth and with little effort. I will say, if I'm going for a more dramatic wing I definitely do the scotch tape trick. I use the tape as a guide to ensure a straight line with no smudging.
I get asked about my lashes a lot, and truth is I really don't wear fake lashes. Honestly, I'm not that great at applying them. Haha, I definitely need more practice with the application but good things take time, right? Anyways, for now I just use Maybelline Lash Sensational to set my first coat. The brush is really awesome for separating and expanding your lashes out, and then I move onto using L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Original Mascara in blackest black. It's a wetter mascara, but I wait a few seconds in between coats and it's like magic!
BROWS:
My brows are very simple. I just use an E.L.F Brow Wand to comb and recently started using the Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil. The pencil is angled, making it super easy to outline and fill your brows perfectly. FYI the regular size Goof Proof pencil is double sided and has it's own brow brush on one end - I have a mini though, (thanks to Ulta and my Platinum status) which doesn't have a brush.
BLUSH:
Not much to my blush routine! I'm obsessed with Too Faced's Sweethearts Blush in Peach Beach. It has a little shimmer, and a soft pinky-peach shade.
HIGHLIGHT:
Also, super simple. I use Wet 'N' Wild's MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in Precious Petals. Just a little on the bridge and tip of my nose, chin and cheekbones and I'm good to go!
CONTOUR:
Benefit's Hoola Bronzer has stolen my heart. I love how you can wear it lighter for a soft look or really build the color and be extra bronzy.
LIPS:
The NYX lip liner in Natural is my favorite! It's a blend of a nice nudish-mauve shade, so is subtle but gives a nice healthy color. To fill in my lips, I use MAC's Velvet Teddy.
xox,
