Sigma Beauty Review: Baking & Strobing Brush Set

Let me start off by saying how incredibly obsessed I am with Sigma Beauty and their products in general! Seriously babes, I have yet to try anything from them that I haven't been overly impressed with. But, for today's post I am diving in with a tell-all on my thoughts about the Baking & Strobing Brush Set!

If you follow me on my social media (specifically Instagram) then you've probably seen my two little videos I put together and flooded my feed with the past few days. When I absolutely love something and believe in it, I want to share it with the whole world. So as the saying goes, "sorry I am not sorry."

I don't know about you guys, but for me the only other thing that's harder than finding the right foundation color is finding the right brush to apply it with. Maybe it's just me, but I really have gone through what in makeup world, feels like hell and back in terms of finding the right tools. Recently though, I was blessed with my first Sigma Beauty savior - the 3DHD Kabuki brush. It truly is heaven sent, I could rant about it for days. This brush was so amazing that it put a precedent on anything that followed, even from Sigma!

When I got the Baking & Strobing Brush Set at my front door, I could NOT wait to open them up and start playing. Even though I had finally found a good foundation brush, I still hadn't found a brush that I liked using to blend my concealer in or a brush that was accurate enough to get in tiny spots for baking - both of which are included in the set of five.

The Sigma brushes are so soft and gentle, but still manage to absolutely kick ass when it comes to picking up, distributing or blending product! You can use them with cream, liquid or powder to either apply, blend, set, highlight, or a combination of the four. On the packaging of the set it notes that each brush was designed with a specific purpose, but each tool is multi-functional and can really be used based on what the user ultimately wants to achieve. The brushes are made with both "Sigmatech fibers" and "Sigmax fibers" which is basically amazingness in a bristle that is said to "outperform and replace" your makeup-blending sponge! That's saying a lot, since everyone loves a good beauty blender. But, I must say I was so impressed with the outcome after my first use that I have not gone back to using the beauty blender since. It has only been like three days, however that's still huge for me!!

I was honestly most skeptical about using F89 Bake Kabuki brush. I had been using a beauty blender (surprise) to apply my translucent powder because I just hadn't found anything that could really pick up the product and apply it evenly without making a huge mess. My first time using this brush was a game-changer! It managed to pick up the product and apply it flawlessly with a few simple applications - I go heavy on it sometimes!

After my makeup routine for the day was completed, I was left with a flawless, airbrushed finish. You really don't know a good makeup brush until you try Sigma's! I've put my video below, so you guys can check out my mini tutorial using them. As always, please comment below or head to the contact page with any questions!

Ps. Stayed tuned for my next post, where I'll be reviewing Sigma's new Dry'N'Shape Spa!

XOX,

Kait
